Hatchlings' dance

I really enjoyed the dance Sunday night. The dances went smoothly and the new dancers did well, too, so your instructions worked! (Sorry, Bob, I missed your dance.) Here's to the Hatchlings!

Thank you Bonnie!

I have to admit, I was pretty happy and proud of us on Sunday. This was the most professional job we've turned in so far.

Not that there isn't room for improvement, but we did a whole bunch of things right. We managed to pick dances that were at the right level for the dancers, we ran the dances about the right length, we managed quite a few "last partner swings" at the ends of our dances, we got through the teaching pretty efficiently, and, best of all, we conveyed that we were having fun.

Special congratulations go to Dale for his calling debut. He confessed to feeling "a bit" nervous about it, but he had clearly prepared well, so it went off amazingly smoothly.

Kudos all around!

A "bit" nervous she says euphemistically. There's nothing like have a hundred (or was that two hundred -- looked like it from up on stage) unruly dancers milling around expectantly waiting for you to guide them through their paces to get the old adrenaline pumping.

Fortunately I had Martha acting as a "spotter" in case I got in trouble, and, yes, I had practiced an incredible number of times for an eight minute dance -- not to mention that the Childgrove dancers as a whole are quite good. They probably could have done without me after the walk through.

Wow--what a rush.
